October 24, 1944 – December 1, 2021
Reverend Don Wayne Cash, 77, husband of Shirley Lucille (Philips) Cash, of Cold Springs Road, Raphine, passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at his residence.
Reverend Cash was born in Augusta County, Virginia on October 24, 1944, a son of the late Warren Lyle Cash and Allene (Patterson) Cash.
Reverend Cash was the minister of New Covenant Church in Raphine, Virginia. He loved the Lord, enjoyed preaching God's word, singing and leading people to Christ. Don enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, and fishing and was an avid turkey hunter.
In addition to his parents, Reverend Cash is preceded in death by an infant sister, Nancy Cash.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 58 years, is a son, David Wayne Cash of Stuarts Draft; a daughter, Cindy Renay (Cash) Truslow and husband Timmy of Spottswood; three brothers, Lonnie Cash and wife Faye of Vesuvius, Rev. Warren Cash of Roanoke, and Pat Cash of Raphine; a sister Elizabeth "Libby" Anderson of Roanoke; a grandson, Dustin Wayne Cash and wife Lindsey; and two great- grandchildren, Logan Cash, and Marleigh Cash.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 3, 2021 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December, 4, 2021 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Fred Salmon and Reverend Warren Cash.
Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Phillips, Lenny Phillips, Troy Phillips, Euley Phillips, Lonnie Cash, Pat Cash, Anthony Allen, Randy Harris, and Ron Coleman.
The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah, the University of Virginia Hope Center, and the many friends, family and caregivers who have supported Don during his illness.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
