Obituary

Renick Walter R.W. Andrews, Jr., 87, husband of Elizabeth C. (Rowe)
Andrews of 308 Ann Street passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Kings Daughters Community Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Andrews was born on August 21, 1929 in Covington, Virginia, a son of the late Renick Walter, Sr. and Mary Katherine (Ballard) Andrews.
R.W. attended Memorial Baptist Church and was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School class. He was retired from American General Life Insurance Company where he was employed as an insurance representative for twenty-nine years. He enjoyed fishing and watching his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildrens sporting events as he was an avid sports fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jenny Lawson.
Surviving in addition to his wife of forty years, is a son, Ronnie W. Andrews and his wife Donna of West Augusta; two daughters, Marion A. Lyle and her husband David and Annette Protil all of Staunton; a step-son, Steven Cason and his wife Stacy Dedinas of Greenville, Delaware; a step-daughter, Patricia C. Heisdorffer and her husband Shawn of Denver, Colorado; a sister, Mary Katherine Miller of Charlottesville; seven grandchildren, Jason Miller and wife Kristina, Lindsay Andrews, Kevin Lyle, Amanda Childress and husband Brandon, Emylee Protil, Caleb Protil and Joshua Protil; five great-grandchildren, Adeline Miller, Jon David Lyle, Calla Dunlap, Hunter Childress and Emma Chadziutko; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of life will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 23, 2017 in Memorial Baptist Church by the Rev. Mark W. Jones. The family will receive friends following the service in the Great Hall.
Burial will be private in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association, Post Office Box 15829, Arlington, Virginia 22215.
The family would like to express a special Thank You to the staff of Kings Daughters Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and the Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah for their love and care given to Mr. Andrews during his illness.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, is in charge of his arrangements.
