Raymond Edward Ray, Jr. Rankin, Jr., 58, of White Oak Gap Road, passed away Monday, June 16, 2014 at his residence.
Mr. Rankin was born December 22, 1955 in Staunton, a son of Estelle Shirley (Glenn) Rankin and the late Raymond Edward Rankin, Sr.
Ray was a member of Mint Spring United Methodist Church. He graduated from Riverheads High School in 1974 and was employed by Mohawk as a boiler tech. Ray enjoyed playing golf.
Surviving in addition to his mother of Staunton, is a brother, Michael D. Rankin of Staunton; a god-son, Brett Wright of Waynesboro; two aunts, Betty Hutchens and Elda Rankin both of Staunton; and a number of cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Coffman Funeral and Crematory.
A Graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro by Pastor Terry L. Clark.
It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the Riverheads Volunteer Fire Department, 49 Swartzel Shop Road, Staunton, VA 24401, Staunton-Augusta Rescue Squad, Post Office Box 2566, Staunton, VA 24402 or the Mint Spring United Methodist Church, c/o Expense Fund, Post Office Box 14, Mint Spring, VA 24463.
