Ray E. Garmon

Ray Edward Garmon, 75, of Supply, NC, passed away at his home on Sunday, May 13, 2012.
Mr. Garmon was born June 2, 1936, in Gadsden, Alabama and was the son of the late Wilburn Edward Garmon and Frances Papish Garmon.
He was a self-employed structural steel draftsman and served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. Ray loved the outdoors, especially boating, fishing, hunting, and motorcycling. He resided primarily in Parkersburg, WVA and Raleigh, NC and eventually moved to Supply, NC.
His surviving family includes two sons, Scott Garmon, and his wife Wendy, of Charlotte, NC, and Todd Garmon of Anderson, SC; two daughters, Rene Gleason, and her husband Dennis, of Waynesboro, VA, and Mindy Rutter, and her husband Rand, of Youngsville, NC; seven grandchildren, Megan Hays and her husband Scott, Jarrod Gleason, Matthew Garmon, Nathan Garmon, Jacob Garmon, Marlena Garmon, and Phoebe Rutter, a great-grandson, Patrick Hays; a sister, Carolyn Leach, and her husband Jack, of Deland, FL; a nephew, Rodney Leach of Christmas, FL and a niece, Jenny Taylor, of Deland, FL also survives.The family also wishes to give a special thank you to Iris Bellamy, a beloved friend to Ray, for her loving care and support.
A private memorial for family will be held at a later date.
