Ralph Perry "Tex" Thompson, Sr., 80, husband of Bessie (Terrell) Thompson of Vinson Street, passed away Friday, January 15, 2021 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.

Ralph was born in Rockingham County, Virginia on July 21, 1940, a son of the late Grover and Sadie (Riley) Thompson.

Mr. Thompson attended Stuarts Draft Full Gospel Church. He was a retired truck driver and enjoyed doing all types of carpentry.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by a brother, Wade Thompson.

Surviving in addition to his wife of fifty-eight years, is a son, Ralph P. Thompson, Jr. and his husband Shane Armstrong of Swoope, Virginia; three brothers, Roy Thompson and Arthur Thompson, both of Jacksonville, Florida, and Lewis Thompson of Staunton; two sisters, Frances McKey and her husband Wayne of Jacksonville, Florida and Gladys Campbell of Staunton; two special nieces, Hanna Cason and Katlyn Cason; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service will be held in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Reverend Bill Watson and Reverend William "Bill" Trice.
