Ralph DeWitt, Jr., 86, of Staunton, passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at his residence following a lengthy illness. He has now rejoined his cherished wife, Martha, in heavenly spirit.

Mr. DeWitt was born on April 29, 1935 in Floyd, Virginia, a son of the late Ralph Emerson and Mary Dorothy (Moran) DeWitt.

Ralph was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of Annex United Methodist Church. He retired in 2000 from Western State Hospital, following 47 years of dedicated service as a registered nurse.

Surviving, is his only child, Sherry D. Rimel and her husband Paul of Staunton; two grandchildren, Alicia Theriot and her husband Branden of Staunton, and Matthew Rimel and his wife Ashley of Victoria; and five great- grandchildren, Bree, Brooke, Mattey, and Luca Rimel and Amry Theriot.

In keeping with Mr. DeWitt's wishes, there will be no public services.

It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the Annex United Methodist Church, 1570 New Hope Road, Staunton, Virginia 24401.
