Phyllis Mae (Blosser) Hawkins, 82, widow of Ray F. Hawkins formerly of Weyers Cave passed away Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.

Mrs. Hawkins was born November 5, 1928 in Page County, VA, a daughter of the late Leo Edward and Irene (Sours) Blosser.

Mrs. Hawkins was a window designer/buyer for Leggett/Belk department store and was a member of the Hampton Church of the Nazarene. Phyllis was an avid gardener, she loved music, crafting and birds and held a special affection for the Outer Banks.

Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Lee Lynch and her husband Courtney J. of West Lafayette, OH and Connie Sue OBrien and her husband Patrick J. of Zanesville, OH; two step-sons, Frank Hawkins and his wife Barbara B. of Stanley and Kenny E. Hawkins and his wife Julie L. of Swoope; a brother, Nelson Blosser of Mooreland, GA; two sisters, Doris (Blosser) Brewer of McGaheysville and Shirley (Blosser) Miller of Port Republic; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

A Graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2011 at East Lawn Cemetery in Harrisonburg, VA by Pastor John Crawford, III.

It is suggested that memorial contributions be made to Alzheimers Association, 2040 Deyerle Avenue, Suite 102, Harrisonburg, VA 22801.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
