Phyllis Yvonne (Hamilton) Bratton, 83, widow of Roy Junior Bratton of 154 Crawford Drive, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017 at her residence.
Mrs. Bratton was born on December 30, 1933 in Pulaski, Virginia, a daughter of the late Charles and Lottie Mae (Akers) Hamilton.
Phyllis was a member of the Lighthouse Church, loved her Lord and wanted everyone to know Him and His love. She had previously been employed as a nurse by Staunton Manor and Oak Hill Nursing Homes and she enjoyed being a caregiver. She was proud of her Native American Indian Heritage and was always thinking of others before herself. She gave freely from the heart and was very protective of her family.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Bratton was preceded in death by three siblings, Garnett Hamilton, William Orlando Campbell, and Dreama Campbell.
Surviving are two sons, Roy A. Bratton of Savannah, Georgia and Ricky Bratton of Churchville; a daughter Cathy Bratton MacPherson of Savanah, Georgia; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald Hamilton of Radford; and a sister, Arbutus Hopkins of Pulaski; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 6, 2017 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 7, 2017 in the Lighthouse Church by Pastor Harold L. Wade.
Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Ricky E. Bratton, Kelly MacPherson, Kenneth MacPherson, Ronnie Conner, Darrell Bratton, and Chris Lambert.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
