Phyllis Ann (Bartley) Howdyshell, 78, widow of Robert David "Buck" Howdyshell, Sr. of 390 Frontier Drive, passed away Monday, July 9, 2018 at her residence.
Mrs. Howdyshell was born on May 26, 1940 in Staunton, a daughter of the late George William and Ruby (Maybush) Bartley.
Phyllis was a member of the Ridgeview Baptist Church, she retired in 2010 from White Way Laundry / Staunton Steam Laundry where she had been employed for over twenty-nine years, she enjoyed getting out riding through the country side looking for deer and the beautiful surroundings.
In addition to her parents and husband of sixty years, Mrs. Howdyshell was preceded in death by a daughter, Deanna Marie Howdyshell; a sister; and a brother.
Surviving are two sons, David Howdyshell and his girlfriend April Cubbage of Staunton and Daryl Howdyshell and his fiance Lisa Bryant of Stuarts Draft; two daughters, Shelby Riley of Staunton and Sherry Hutchens and her husband Bobby of Waynesboro; four grandchildren, Michelle Hutchens, Megan Riley, Dustin Howdyshell, and Kristina Birckhead; three brothers; two sisters; a number of nieces and nephews; and special friend, Dot Jordan.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 12, 2018 in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.
A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2018 in Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church Cemetery by Pastor Harold W. "Pete" Campbell.
The family would like to extend a sincere and grateful "Thank You" to caregivers, Linda Woods, April Cubbage, Bethany Hicks, and the nursing staff of Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah.
