Peter A. "Pete" Pedersen, Sr., at the age of 87, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at his home in Staunton.

Mr. Pedersen was born on October 25, 1936 in Bayshore, New York, a son of the late Olaf and Margrete Pedersen.

Peter was a veteran of the United States Marines. His professional journey included roles such as owner of his construction company, farmer, owner of the Bargain Barn, building inspector for Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center, and supervisor of buildings and grounds at Western State Hospital.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Pedersen was preceded in death by his sister, Marion Edgi.

Surviving is his loving wife of 70 years, Norma (Stevenson) Pedersen; five children, Sherry (Tom) Flamino of CA, Debbie (Dan) Spear of Spotsylvania VA, Lori (Ronnie - deceased) Moore, Peter Petersen Jr., and Scott (Laura) Pedersen all of Staunton; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at the Cornerstone Church of Augusta.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
