Penny Bird Stinnett, 54, wife of Wayne Stinnett of Stuarts Draft, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.

Mrs. Stinnett was born in Rockingham County, Virginia on August 27, 1967, a daughter of Paul Bird, Jr. and the late Margaret "Margie" (Bottenfield) Bird.

Penny was a graduate of Buffalo Gap High School, class of 1985. With her love of others, Penny worked as a caregiver for Moms in Motion. She loved butterflies, the beach and sea turtles. Penny was very outgoing, free spirited, and never met a stranger. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister.

In addition to her mother, Mrs. Stinnett was preceded in death by her grandparents and a special aunt, Louise.

Surviving, in addition to her father and husband, are two daughters, Raven Barkley and Jessica Mitchell; four brothers, Paul Bird, III (Tami), James Ramsey (Dolly), Matthew Bird (Christie), and Shawn Bird (Shelly); two sisters, Sherry Lambert and Kathi Starks (Cliff); three grandchildren, Alexis Barkley, Damien Durrette, and Dayvon Durrette; a life-long friend, Teresa Lynn; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at Redeeming Life Ministries by Pastor James Potter.

The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
