Obituary

Peggy Phyllis (Stoner) Martin, 90, of 824 Elizabeth Miller Gardens, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018 at her residence.
Mrs. Martin was born on May 20, 1928 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Frank Lyle and Addie (Mowyer) Morrison Stoner.
Peggy retired from Stonewall Jackson Hotel as a desk manager, she enjoyed collecting knickknacks, and she loved her family."
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Franklin Avis Martin; two daughters, Wanda June Crawford and Shirley Jean Smith; and two sisters, Helen Hartsook and Polly Morrison.
Surviving are three daughters, Trudy B. Haaf and her husband Keith, Cindy Lou Kier and her husband David, and Marie Ann Halterman, all of Staunton; a sister, Patsy Hite and her husband Elmer of Staunton; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
A Graveside Service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2018 in the Thornrose Cemetery by Rev. William "Bill" Trice.
Active pallbearers will be Mrs. Martin's grandsons.
It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to The Being Brady Strong, 301 Yount Avenue, Staunton, Virginia 24401.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, is in charge of her arrangements.
