Peggy Ann (Downs) Maw Maw Norcross, 79, widow of Raymond Cornell Norcross, formerly of March Road, Waynesboro, passed away Friday, July 5, 2013 in Shenandoah Nursing Home.

Mrs. Norcross was born January 1, 1934 in Warrenton, a daughter of the late Hazel (Hamilton) Downs.

Peggy was employed as a sales clerk with Roses Department Store and the Fashion Bug; she was very devoted to her family and grandchildren; she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, bird watching, traveling, the beach and spending much special time with her family.

Mrs. Norcross was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Mrs. Norcross is survived by two sons; Ray Michael Norcross and wife Alisa of Mount Sidney, and Chris Norcross and wife Carol of Scottsville; three daughters, Pam Y. Hall and husband Tommy of Stuarts Draft, Karen A. Rinaldi and husband Marc of Staunton and Kim D. Gilmer and husband Jon of Stuarts Draft; a brother-in-law Ronald Norcross and sister-in-law Shirley Raphael; ten grandchildren; Lindsey Yildiz and husband Cagatay, Megan Hays and husband Brent, Whitney Norcross, Zachary Rinaldi, Dillon Norcross, Mindie Nicholes, Elijah Rinaldi, Luke Norcross, Laci Norcross, and Sydney Norcross; one great grandchild Emily Hays; her special pet companion Reece, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

A Graveside service will be conducted 12:00 noon Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Fluvanna Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2013 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.

It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah, 64 Sports Medicine Rd., Fishersville, VA 22939.
