Peggy Rosalie (Hulvey) Barkley, 83, widow of Herbert Lee "Herb" Barkley, of Staunton, Virginia passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.

Mrs. Barkley was born in Staunton, Virginia on June 6, 1939, a daughter of the late Harry Hulvey, Sr. and Rosa (Britt) Hulvey.

Peggy was a compassionate in-home care provider, a member of Marquis Memorial United Methodist Church, and made many friends through TOPS. She enjoyed crafts, cross-stitch, and quilting and was an avid Sudoku player, until the day before she passed.

Though her family will miss her greatly, Peggy was at peace knowing she had many angels waiting for her.

In addition to her parents and husband of sixty-two years, Mrs. Barkley was preceded in death by a son, Wayne R. Barkley; a sister, Nancy Sellers; and a son-in-law, Edward Fetzner.

Surviving, are two sons, Michael L. Barkley and Jeff S. Barkley; a daughter, Brenda K. Fetzner; a brother, Harry Hulvey, Jr. and his wife, Linda; seven grandchildren, Casey, Taylor, Zak, Raven, Jessica, Ashley, and Matthew; and twelve great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 3, 2023 at Thornrose Cemetery by Pastor Leroy Hulvey, Peggy's cousin from Shenandoah, Virginia.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
