Peggy Jean (Carroll) Gardner, 71, wife of Rev. William B. Gardner, III of Staunton passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.

Mrs. Gardner was born August 31, 1941 in Churchville, a daughter of the late Elsie (Carroll) Carroll.

Peggy attended Arbor Hill Church of the Brethren and was retired from BabiesRUs where she was employed as a clerk.

In addition to her husband of fifty-two years, Peggy is survived by a son, Donald Roy Gardner of Woodbridge; a daughter, Katrina M. Bell and her husband Matthew of Catlett; a brother, Paul E. Carroll and his wife Bessie of Staunton; and a grandson, Christopher Bell of Catlett.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Grant Simmons.

Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery in Churchville.

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 19, 2013 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.

Active pallbearers will be Ben Sragovitz, Matthew Bell, Christopher Bell, Tommy Marcum, Paul Carroll and Charles Thorne.

It is suggested those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, 42 Neff Avenue, Suite 210, Harrisonburg, Virginia 22801.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
