Pauline J. Oliver
Polly Oliver, 96, of Fishersville Virginia, formerly of Houston Texas, died Tuesday December 9, 2008.
During her lifetime she was a professional violinist, an educator and editor. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Rice University, and her Master of Education from University of Houston. Polly had been an active volunteer and member of First Presbyterian Church of Houston, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Judith Smith.
Pollys memory will be cherished by her husband of seventy-four years, Victor Thomas Oliver of Fishersville, Virginia, formerly of Houston, Texas; her daughter Paula Rau, of Stuarts Draft, Virginia; her son John Oliver and his wife Gail Oliver of Staunton, Virginia; her grandchildren, Chris Daffin and his wife Marcia Daffin of Springhill, Tennessee; Robin Daffin of Beaumont, Texas; Peter Rau of Durham, North Carolina; Jill Rau and her husband Richard Owen of London, Ontario, Canada; Megan Oliver and her husband Chris Porter of Alexandria, Virginia; and Thomas Rau of Durham, North Carolina, as well as her great-grandchildren Bridget Daffin, Matt Daffin, and Brian Daffin of Springhill, Tennessee.
Polly will be remembered at a shared memorial service at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel at 7 P.M., Monday December 15, 2008.
