Paul Erskine Cline, 93, widower of Kathleen Jane (Meyerhoeffer) Cline, of Fort Defiance, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2026 at his residence.
Mr. Cline was born in Augusta County, Virginia on April 3, 1933, a son of the late William Edwin and Ola Bell (Garber) Cline.
Paul dedicated more than 40 years to construction work while also farming throughout his life. He was known for his strong work ethic and lifelong commitment to providing for his family.
In addition to his parents and wife of 72 years, Mr. Cline was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Burcham; and two brothers, William Cline and Quentin Cline.
Surviving, is a son, Paul “Kenny” Cline and his wife, Debbie of Mt. Sidney; a daughter, Paula (Cline) Hooke and her husband, Eddie of Fort Defiance; five grandchildren, Meghan, Kendrah, Kristen, Cara, and Kelsey; ten great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Middle River Church of the Brethren.
The family will receive friends following the service.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
