Paul Davis Bowman, 94, widower of Betty Jean (Patteson) Bowman formerly of Taylor Street, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the Regency Senior Living in Fishersville.

Mr. Bowman was born in Archdale, North Carolina on July 21, 1927, a son of the late Wade Thomas and Cordelia (Davis) Bowman.

Paul was an active member of Memorial Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and sang in the Chancel Choir. Paul retired from C\u0026P Telephone Company in January 1985, as a supervisor and was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed tending to his lawn and gardening.

Mr. Bowman was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Bowman was preceded in death by an infant son, Timothy Davis Bowman and a brother, Joseph W. Bowman.

Surviving is a son, Cary Robert Bowman and his wife Annette of Nellysford; a daughter, Paula B. Hoal of Staunton; five grandchildren, Amanda Smith and boyfriend Phillip DeLauder, Jr., Mark Bowman and wife Danielle, Nicole Bowman, Sarah Sweitzer and Susie Botkin and husband Addam; nine great-grandchildren, Riley, Eli, Ian, Alaina, Jake, Jenna, Celeste, Josie and Chi`Anne.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at his residence.

A private burial will be held in Mountain View Cemetery in Vinton, Virginia.

The family would like to offer a special "Thank You" to caregivers Melissa, Donna, Ashley, Liz and Tammie for their love and care shown to Paul.

It is suggested those desiring to make memorial contributions to the charity of one's choice.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
