Paul Harmon Back, 79, husband of Shirley (Gwin) Back of 61 Back Lane passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at his residence.

Mr. Back was born July 24, 1932 in Augusta County, a son of the late Harmon Cecil and Alice (Arehart) Back.

Mr. Back was a member of the Bethlehem United Methodist Church. He retired in January of 1993 after thirty-five years of service as a production clerk with Genicom/GE and was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed coaching little league baseball in Middlebrook, camping, hunting, fishing and gardening.

Surviving in addition to his wife of forty-eight years is a son, Jeffrey P. Back and his wife Debbie of Staunton; a daughter, Gail A. Back of Calabash, NC; a brother, Clay M. Back and his wife Peggy of Verona; a sister Mary Alice (Back) Cox and her husband Carl of Swoope; two grandchildren, Kelsey Back and Sierra Back; a number of nieces, nephews and many friends and his pet-grand dog, Raven also survives.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 3, 2011 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Janet Knott.

Burial will follow in Toms Pride Cemetery in Highland County.

Active pallbearers will be C. H. Cox, Doug Cox, Dale Cox, Danny Grimm, Victor Truxell, Tom Cook, Chub Rexrode, Matt Lyons and Mike Back.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and other times at the residence.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
