Patricia "Pat" Agnes (Fitzgerald) Long, 81, widow of Ronald Linwood Long, Sr., of Hundley Distillery Road in Churchville, Virginia went to meet her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 5, 2024 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Mrs. Long was born on October 17, 1942 in Mt. Sidney, a daughter of the late Wilmer J. Sr. and Phyliss (Dull) Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Long was a great mother, animal lover and was always willing to help anyone. She loved the outdoors, spending time in her garden and raising blackberries. She will be greatly missed and per her request anyone attending should dress casually.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Long was preceded in death by a brother, Wilmer J. Fitzgerald, Jr.
Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia June Long of Churchville; a son, Ronald L. Long, Jr. of Staunton; a honorary daughter, Peggy Long Simmons of Churchville; two sisters, Deborah Cincotta and husband Bert and Carol Anderson and companion Larry all of Maryland; two honorary grandchildren, Michael Sheets and Regina Thorn; two nephews, Jason Anderson and wife Missy and Brian Coats; special friends and neighbors, Roy Lilly, Frankie Pancheri, Holly Dilorenzo and Sonny Jones; and her loving pets.
A Graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 12, 2024 in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends following the service.
At her request, there will be no public viewing.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
