ONeil (Spradlin) Simmons, wife of Elwood Lee Simmons of 24 Lilly Drive, Fishersville passed away, Monday, June 18, 2012 in Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Mrs. Simmons was born in Waynesboro, a daughter of the late Luther David and Ethel (Thacker) Spradlin.
Mrs. Simmons was a member of Basic United Methodist Church in Waynesboro and was retired as secretary with the Apple and Peach Inspection Service for the State of Virginia for over twenty years. She was a beautiful home decorator, immaculate housekeeper and enjoyed working with her roses in the garden.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Simmons was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Summers and Margie Lambert.
Surviving in addition to her husband of sixty-two years are two sisters, Geneva Teter of Waynesboro and Jean King and her husband Barney of Staunton and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
A Graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2012 at Augusta Memorial Park by Pastors Don Gibson and Tully Hunter.
It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah, Post Office Box 215, Fishersville, Virginia 22939 or a charity of ones choice.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
