Olen Carroll Siron, Sr., 83, widower of Nancy Lee (Weaver) Siron of 1507 Hewitt Road, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016 in Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Mr. Siron was born on April 27, 1933 in Highland County, Virginia, a son of the late William Homer and Della May (Simmons) Siron.
Olen was a member of Christian Fellowship Baptist Church. Following his retirement in 1988 from Smiths Transfer, Mr. Siron continued his driving career with Carolina Freight. He enjoyed mowing and landscaping his lawn, hunting, fishing, camping and the outdoors. Mr. Siron enjoyed watching western movies, wrestling and the precious moments spent with his great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Siron is preceded in death by a son, Dennis Ray Siron; a brother, Eddie Arnold Siron; and a sister, Charlotte L. Simmons.
Surviving is a son, Olen C. Siron, Jr. and his wife Robyn of Churchville; a daughter, Melissa J. Baugh and her husband Charles of Verona; a brother James Lee Siron of Doe Hill; three sisters, Doris Armstrong of Doe Hill, Thelma Pultz of Staunton and Gail Marie Bowers of Franklin, WV; three grandchildren, Rachel S. Coffey and her husband Chad, Rebekka S. Lindsay and her husband Chris and Jonathon O. Kelly and his wife Heather; five great-grandchildren, Dalton Coffey, Wyatt Lindsay, Kaden Kelly, Colton Kelly and Brooklee Lindsay also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2016 in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence of Mr. Sirons son and daughter-in-law, 122 Farm View Lane, Churchville, Virginia 24421.
A Graveside service will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2016 in Oaklawn Memory Gardens by Pastor Gary Hodges.
Active pallbearers will be Jonathon Kelly, Chris Lindsay, Chad Coffey, Phillip Neff, Keith Wenger and Toby Siron.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. John O. Rob Marsh, Charlie Drumheller, Tracy Arnold and the men of Christian Fellowship Baptist Church.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, is in charge of his arrangements.
