Oakley Weldon Huffer, 76, devoted husband of Diane (Mizer) Huffer, of 87 Mizer Lane, Swoope, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at his residence.

Mr. Huffer was born in Staunton, Virginia on October 12, 1946, a son of the late Oakley Weldon Huffer Sr. and Bernice (Michael) Huffer.

Oakley was a member of Jerusalem Chapel and was employed as a machinist at Westinghouse and later, with Tyco Electronics for twenty-five years. Oakley was a farmer at heart, farming for fifty-one years. He became a believer in Jesus and followed him the rest of his life, reflecting his love in the way he treated others, especially those in need.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of fifty-four years, are two daughters, Michele Canterbury of Roanoke and Monika Huffer of Swoope; a grandson, Jakobe Opie; a brother, Gary Huffer of Verona; and a sister, Doris "Sis" (Huffer) Staubus and her husband, Earl D. Staubus of Verona.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times at their residence.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at Jerusalem Chapel by Pastor George Etling and Pastor George Yoder.

Burial will follow in the Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Daniel Salatin, Eric Barth, Chris Miller, Robert Cassiday, Larry Kelley, Jonathan Hale, Randy Derrow, and B.C. Derrow.

Honorary pallbearers will be Joel Salatin and William Palmer.
