Norman Monroe Jackson, Sr., 81, husband of Anita (Gordon) Jackson of Staunton, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2014, at his residence.
Mr. Jackson was born on July 15, 1933, in New York City, a son of the late Albert Alfred, Sr. and Elfrieda (Irwin) Jackson.
Norman was a member of Central United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean Conflict and was self-employed working in construction.
Norman was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife are four sons; Derick Edmonds and wife Deborah of Georgia, Norman M. Jackson, Jr. and wife Patricia of New York City, Joseph T. Jackson and wife Jackie of Staunton, and Alan A. Jackson and wife Cheryl of New Jersey; a daughter, Jeannette E. Lancien and husband Julien F. of Richmond; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren also survive.
A Memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2014, in the Central United Methodist Church by Rev. Won Un. A reception will follow in the church Fellowship Hall.
