Norma Jean (Mabe) Gibbons's Obituary

Norma Jean (Mabe) Gibbons, 77, wife of DeVoe Eugene Gibbons of 656 Frog Pond Road, Staunton, passed away Saturday, December 5, 2020, in the University of Virginia Hospital.

Mrs. Gibbons was born in Hillsville, Virginia, on October 8, 1943, a daughter of the late Norman Hal Mabe and Romaine (Denton) Mabe Pope.

Norma attended Good News Ministries, and was proud to be a mother and housewife. She enjoyed adult coloring books, reading, cooking for her family, family vacations, and family gatherings.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gibbons was preceded in death by a brother, Clark Mabe.

Surviving, in addition to her husband of fifty-eight years, is a son, Deon E. Gibbons and wife Carrie of Stuarts Draft; two daughters, Tina R. Burke of Staunton, and Lisa LaKay Parlett and husband Todd of Luray; six grandchildren, Noah Burke and wife Cassie, Cody Burke, Shilo Parlett, Drew Gibbons and wife Samantha, Brittany Gibbons, and Ginger Gibbons; five great-grandchildren, Grace, Caroline, Elijah and Asher Burke and Eliza Gibbons; an expected great-granddaughter, Becca Romaine Gibbons; a half-sister, Tami Rice of Coeburn, Virginia; and step-father, Edward Pope of Java, Virginia.

In keeping with Mrs. Gibbons' request, all services will be private.
