Norma Jean (White) Shelton, 90, widow of Robert Eugene “Bob” Shelton, of Staunton, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at her residence.

Mrs. Shelton was born in Richwood, West Virginia on May 22, 1936, a daughter of the late Richard Mansel White and Erma (Perry) White.

Norma found joy in the simple pleasures of life and treasured the time she spent with her husband, especially bass fishing along the James River. She enjoyed bowling, working on puzzles, trips to the beach, and listening to the Statler Brothers. Her kindness was also evident in the joy she found in filling candy bags for the local county schools.

In addition to her parents and husband of 60 years, Mrs. Shelton was preceded in death by a son, Charles Edward Baker, Jr.; a brother, Richard M. White, II; a sister, Charlotte Greer; and two grandchildren, Emma Baker and Jammie Fridley.

Surviving, is a daughter, Patty A. Clevenger and her husband, Jerry of Summerville, WV; three sons, Robert O. Shelton and his wife, Donna of Roanoke, Richard “Mike” Shelton and his wife, Cheryl of Churchville, and Ryan Gene Shelton and his wife, Lisa of Staunton; two sisters, Kathy Lane of Mount Lookout, WV and Sue Christian of West Chester, OH; two half brothers, Richard Stedman of AL and John Purse of AL; grandchildren, Megan Shelton, Holly Shelton, Jake Shelton and his wife, Emma, Joe Shelton, Laurel Shelton, Patric Shelton, Jesse Folkenflik and her husband, Dave, Hannah Smith, John Pat Johnson, Jamie Ann Johnson, and Jessica Fridley; and great-grandchildren, Arriana, Hunter, Wesley, Viola, Zella, Eliza, Skylar and Colson; and second mom to Tina Delahay, Timmy Byars, and Terry Byars.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2026 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Chaplain Stephen Henderson.

The family will receive friends following the service.
