Obituary

Noah Newsome, Jr., 74, husband of Betty Kay (Damron) Newsome of 505 Hull Street, passed away Friday, February 26, 2016 at his residence.
Mr. Newsome was born on January 17, 1942 in Kermit, West Virginia, a son of the late Noah, Sr. and Florence (Sartin) Newsome.
Noah attended Calvary Assembly of God Church for over 50 years and took great pride in his ability as a self-employed dry wall contractor. He was a West Virginia Mountaineer fan, enjoyed Blue Grass Christian music and fishing.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Newsome was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brittney N. Perez and a sister, Virginia Romans.
Surviving in addition to his wife of fifty-three years, are two daughters, Donna K. Perez and her husband Mikel of Caracas, Venezuela and Michele R. Ashworth and her husband Brad of Staunton; four brothers, Keither Newsome, Milton Newsome, Willie Newsome and Chris Newsome all of Kermit, West Virginia; a sister, Joyce Sue Marcum of Kermit, West Virginia; four grandchildren, Brian A. Perez, Brandon N. Perez, Hannah R.
Ashworth and Hailey N. Ashworth; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2016 in the Calvary Assembly of God by Pastor Kevin Persinger.
The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Brian Perez, Brad Ashworth, Ron Knott, Terry Hall, Jerry Greening, Matt Ashworth and Verick Wiles.
It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the
Calvary Assembly of God, C/O Childrens Ministry, 1516 Springhill Road, Staunton VA 24401.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
