Nicholas Allen Nick Botkin, 20 of 504 China Clay Road, passed away Sunday, December 25, 2011 at his residence.
He was born on August 11, 1991 in Staunton, a son of Willard Allen Botkin, Jr. and Michelle Gray (Shiflett) Painter.
Nick was a graduate of Stuarts Draft High School class of 2009. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, and all types of music, from Rap to Bluegrass. He was an avid New York Yankees fan also. Nick was employed with Buffalo Wild Wings in Waynesboro, where he enjoyed being a cook and was a friend to all. He never met a stanger.
Mr. Botkin was preceded in death by a paternal step-grandfather, Mr. Dickie Painter, his maternal step-grandfather, Mr. Bill Clarke and maternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Josephine Pullin.
In addition to his mother Michelle and her husband Chris Painter, whom he called Dad of Stuarts Draft and his father Willard Allen W.A. Botkin, Jr., of Churchville, Nick is survived by two brothers, Andrew C. Fix and Bradley M. Painter, both of Stuarts Draft; his step-father, Wayne M. Fix of Waynesboro; maternal grandmother, Belva G. Clarke and maternal grandfather, Marshall G. Shiflett both of Staunton; paternal grandmother, Jackie H. Wood and her husband Jimmy of Mt. Sidney; paternal great-grandmother, Enie Harris of Staunton; paternal grandfather, Willard Allen Botkin, Sr. and his wife Wanda of Staunton and extended grandparents, Juanita Painter and Jerry and Kathy Fix all of Waynesboro and Nicks girlfriend, Kristina Britt of Staunton. Nicholas is also survived by a number of loving aunts, uncles, cousins and many close and special friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 29, 2011 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Revs. Daniel Wine and Thomas Quick.
Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home or other times at his residence.
Active pallbearers will be Bert and Eric Shiflett, Dana Pullin, Leo Cancino, Nick Wichael and Joel Gunn.
Honorary pallbearers are family and friends who loved and cared for Nicholas.
It is suggested those desiring to make memorial contributions in Nicks memory to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN. 38105.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
