Nellie Katherine (Hoover) Woods, 70, widow of Warren Douglas Woods
formally of Miss Phillips Road, Swoope passed away, Friday, July 2, 2010 at the Shenandoah House in Fishersville.
Mrs. Woods was born May 7, 1940 in Staunton, a daughter of the late Emory and Virginia (Gwin) Hoover.
Nellie enjoyed watching television and her favorite program was Poker on ESPN.
She is survived by two brothers and a sister-in-law, William K. Hoover and his wife Betty of Staunton and Houston Hoover of Ohio; three sisters, Anna Belle Hartman of Staunton, Shirley Wilcher of Craigsville and Betty Hoover of Staunton; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside service will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Thursday, July 8, 2010 in Thornrose Cemetery by the Rev. Dr. H. Wray Sherman, III.
Those desiring may call at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory at any time and following the service at the home of Mrs. Woodss nephew, Eddie Hartman, 28 Maple Leaf Drive, Staunton.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Shenandoah House, 111 North Campus Lane, Fishersville, VA 22939 or to Hermitage Presbyterian Church Organ and Piano Fund,46 Hildebrand Church Road, Waynesboro, VA 22980.
