Nell H. Collinsworth
STAUNTON:
Nell Gustauva (Hardy) Collinsworth, 87, widow of Ervin Collinsworth, formally of Springhill Road passed away Thursday, March 10, 2011 at the residence of her granddaughter with whom she made her home.
Mrs. Collinsworth was born May 21, 1923 in Fordwick, VA a daughter of the late John Hardy and Helen (Trainum) Hardy Robinson.
Mrs. Collinsworth worked at Western State Hospital for twenty-three years and DeJarnett for two years as a developmental technician. She enjoyed working with adolescents. Nell was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses of Staunton and enjoyed spending time in her garden. She was a warm, loving, and generous person and a wonderful mother and grandmother. She had many friends who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ervin who passed away in 1975 and to whom she was married to for thirty-four years.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara J. Collinsworth of Waynesboro; a granddaughter, Sarah Richert and her husband Aaron; two great grandchildren, Jordon and Noah Richert all of Staunton; a sister, Sue Vaiksnoras of Nashville, TN; and a special close friend and caregiver, Virginia King of Staunton.
A memorial service will be conducted 3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2011 in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses on Springhill Road in Staunton.
It is suggested that memorial contribution be made to the Watch Tower Bible Tact Society of the United States of America, 25 Columbia Heights, Brooklyn, NY 11201-2483 or the Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah, 64 Sports Medicine Drive, Fishersville, Virginia 22939.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
