Nannie V. Troxell
Nannie Viola Granny (Hostetter) Troxell, 85, widow of Roy Edwin Troxell of 82 Hancock Street, Craigsville passed away Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Mrs. Troxell was born in Rockbridge County, Virginia on April 5, 1925 a daughter of the late Randolph Cleavland and Lula Bell Hostetter.
Nannie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was a wonderful housewife and a wonderful friend to many.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Troxell was preceded in death by a son, Edward M. Troxell and five brothers.
Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law; LeRoy S. Troxell and his wife Teena of Rockbridge Baths, John W. Troxell and his wife Janice and Michael C. Troxell both of Craigsville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary T. Bishop and her husband J.D. of Fernandina Beach, FL, Linda M. Montgomery of Lexington and Helen A. Bryant and her husband Clarence of Roanoke; three sisters, Mary Bell Reid of Rockbridge baths, Margaret Bryant of Roanoke and Lucy Hostetter of Buena Vista; fifteen grandchildren, Douglas, Virginia, Angie, Steve, Jed, Jr and his wife Ashley, Jason, Chad, Troy, Avis, Christina, Tyler, Jordan, Mikey and Johnathan; four great-grandchildren, Allison, Trenton, Hunter and Elizabeth and a number of nieces, nephews and many special friends.
A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 6, 2010 in the Walkers Creek Community Church by the Rev. Barbara A. Sawyer. Burial will follow in the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Walkers Creek.
Active pallbearers will be her grandsons.
The family will receive friends this evening, Sunday, December 5, 2010 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
