Nancy Bell (Kyle) Detamore, 87, wife of Wilber L. "Fee" Detamore of 401 Brookwood Road went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 24, 2016.
Mrs. Detamore was born on March 19th, 1928 in Staunton, Virginia. She was a daughter of the late George Anderson Sr. and Mamie Ruth (Carson) Kyle.
Nancy was a dedicated, lifelong member of St. Paul\u0027s United Methodist Church. Nancy was known for her love for music. She was a soprano soloist in the church choir and enjoyed performing in St. Pauls dinner theaters. She was active in and past president of Staunton Womens AGLOW and the Christian Womens Club. Nancy was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She never met a stranger, and greeted everyone with her contagious smile. She will be missed by all the lives she has touched. As Nancy would say, "Keep smiling!"
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Detamore was preceded in death by a brother, George Kyle Jr. and a great-grandson, Brason C. Benson.
Surviving in addition to the love of her life "Fee" of 65 years is a daughter, Suzanne D. Newlen and her husband Ricky of Staunton; a son, Andy L. Detamore and his wife Pauline of Staunton; two sisters, Dorothy K. Beck of Olney, Maryland and Betty T. Combee of Southport, North Carolina; a brother Kenneth Kyle of Staunton; four grandchildren, Joshua Rankin and his fiance` Wendy Thompson, Ryan Jenkins and her husband Chris, Tyler Benson and Cassidy Benson; five great-grandchildren, Dylan Rankin, Trevor Rankin, Charlee K. Jenkins, Aubrey Rankin, and Zaidyn Benson; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at St. Paul\u0027s United Methodist Church or other times at the residence.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 28th, 2016 at St. Paul\u0027s United Methodist Church by Pastors Bryson Smith, Barbara Sawyer, Wade Munford and Sam Talley.
Burial will follow in the Thornrose Cemetery
Active pallbearers will be Joshua Rankin, Tyler Benson, Dylan Rankin, Trevor Rankin, Ricky Newlen and Chris Jenkins.
Honorary pallbearers will be Junior Conner, Edgar "Corky" Smith, Charles and Susan Huffman and Bokey and Cheryl Wright.
