Minnie Drucilla (Knight) Puckett, 89, widow of Donald Edward Puckett of 251 Stuples Hollow Road passed away Thursday, August 2, 2012 at her residence.
Mrs. Puckett was born May 13, 1923 in Augusta County, a daughter of the late James Alfred and Hattie Mae (Sprouse) Knight.
Mrs. Puckett was a member of the Estaline Valley Church of the Nazarene and was retired from the Stillwater Mills with over thirty years in the sewing room. She enjoyed fishing, traveling, shopping and loved to embroider. Minnie was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Puckett was preceded in death by five brothers and a sister.
Surviving are four daughters, Shirley P. Blackwell and her husband Donald of Staunton, Janet E. Johnson and her husband James of Craigsville, Eunice P. Conner and her husband Richie of Edinburg and Wanda G. Conger and her husband Ken of Verona; two sisters, Viola F. Byram and Ruth T. Weaver both of Craigsville; ten grandchildren, Donna Fridley, Teresa Anson, Susan Wilcher, Jimmy Johnson, Kristie Johnson, Robbie Montgomery, Mark Montgomery, Crystal Thomas, Cathy Humphreys and Dana Metz; nineteen great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren and caregivers, Donnie and Evelyn Byram.
A Celebration of Minnies life will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 5, 2012 in Estaline Valley Church of the Nazarene by Pastor Billy Curry.
Burial will follow in the Craigsville Community Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. Saturday, August 4, 2012 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.
Active pallbearers will be Tommy Humphreys, Barry Spradlin, Dennis Hatkevich, Wayne Puckett, Charlie Puckett and Danny Clifton.
Honorary pallbearers are Mrs. Pucketts great-grandsons.
