Milton Lee Berry, 63, husband of Barbara Gulick Berry, of Staunton passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2011 in Augusta Health.
He was born on August 29, 1947 in Staunton, a son of the late Graham Milton and Mary (Crummett) Berry.
Mr. Berry was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War and was employed with Meade Trucking as a truck driver with 39 years of service. He was a graduate of Wilson Memorial High School class of 1966 and was a member of the Verona Moose Lodge #2172. His ability to tell a good story was one of his favorite hobbies.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a half-brother, Walter Palmer Berry.
Surviving in addition to his wife of Leesburg, Virginia, is a son, Timothy L. Berry and a daughter, Sherry D. Berry both of Staunton; two step-sons, Brian Gulick of Harpers Ferry, WVA and Danny Shifflett of Staunton; a step-daughter, Teresa Chapman of Winchester; two sisters, Rosemary Y. Simmons of Staunton and Ronda B. Cash and her husband Rodger of Waynesboro; a half-brother, William Berry of Staunton; an aunt, Mildred Rhea of Boothwyn, PA ; an uncle, Clarence Crummett of Staunton; and a number of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2011 in Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Keith May.
Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Roger Cash, Randy Meade, Lacy Houff, Harvey Henson, Jerry Dale, Kevin Cash and Donald Larson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Chapman, David Hall and co-workers of Meade Trucking.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, August 5, 2011 in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
It is suggested that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 420 Neff Ave. Suite 210, Harrisonburg, VA 22801.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
