Michael Edward Mike Shelton-Adkins, 45, of 212 Maury Mill Road went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Mike was born May 18, 1967 in Martinsville, a son of Richard Clyde Adkins and Shirley Ann (Deal) Shelton-Adkins.
Prior to Michaels illness he loved fishing, camping, boating with friends and Nascar. He enjoyed being with family and friends and his loving dog Rascal.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Glen and Bertha Deal; paternal grandfather, Clyde Adkins; a half-brother, Gary Adkins and an uncle Danny Adkins.
Surviving in addition to his mother and father of Verona are three sisters, Kathy S. Rule of Staunton, Debbie J. Dove of Harrisonburg and Carolyn S. Fisher and her husband Donald of Locust Grove, VA; paternal grandmother, Mary K. Adkins of Meadow Bridge, WVA; a half-brother, Tony Adkins of Oak Hill, WVA; a half-sister, Kathy Sharp and her husband Bob of Martinsville; special friends, Cindy, Kathy, Belva, Larry Miller and Danny Napier; three uncles, nieces, nephews and many cousins who loved him very much also survive.
A Memorial service will be conducted at 4:00p.m., Friday, February 1, 2013 in Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Todd Brown.
The family will receive friends following the service.
In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated and burial will be private.
It is suggested that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
