Michael Harold Mike Johnson, 73, husband of Marian Johnson of Rolling Green Drive passed away Monday, February 17, 2014 at his home.
Mike was born April 4, 1940 in Los Angeles, CA, a son of the late Harold T. and Louise (Gande) Johnson.
Mr. Johnson was a member of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church. He was a veteran of the Marine Reserves and was retired from the government where he had worked as an intelligence analyst. Mr. Johnson was a member of the Middlebrook Ruritan Club, Shenandoah Philatelic Club and the American Philatelic Society (APS).
In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by a step-mother, Shirley Schlea.
Surviving in addition to his wife of fifty-three years, is a son, John Johnson and wife Michele; a daughter, Michele (Johnson) Meidl and husband John; seven grandchildren, Camille, Ruby and Nina Johnson and Michael, Peter, Daniel and Amanda Meidl; and other family members and friends also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2014 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church by Pastor JoAnn Bunn.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be John Wooddell, Jack Earhart, B. B. Hanger, Lew Manhart, Tommy Hanger and John Barbour.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Middlebrook Ruritan Club.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the
Staunton~Augusta Rescue Squad and the Middlebrook Fire Department.
