Michael Wayne Mike Clayton, 60, husband of Dorothy Dot Clayton of 319 Driscoll Street passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at his residence.
Mr. Clayton was born December 11, 1953 in Monterey, a son of the late Franklin E. and Ethel (White) Clayton.
Mike was a member of Victory Worship Center, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was employed by the Virginia Department of Transportation in accounting. Mr. Clayton enjoyed cooking, and his greatest desire was to be a helper to all.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Clayton was preceded in death by a brother, Frank E. Clayton.
Surviving in addition to his wife of seven years is a step son, Donald L. Roby and wife Gaynell of Swoope; a step daughter, Susan Losh and husband Charlie of Churchville; three sisters, Dallas Waybright, and Ella Propst and husband Dale, both of Monterey, and Myrtle Lambert and husband Billy of Spring Hill; four step grandsons, Nathan Roby, Josh Roby, Colton Losh, and Michael Losh; two step great grandsons, Parker Roby and Weston Roby and four nephews, Rick Halterman, Rob Halterman, Eddie Lambert and Greg Lambert, and a niece Jennifer Propst.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Victory Worship Center by Pastor Ray Eppard.
The family will receive friends following the service.
