Melvin Ray "Junior" Humphreys, Jr., 54, husband of Cathy (Downey) Humphreys, of Swoope passed away on Monday, August 29, 2022 at his residence.

He was born in Harrisonburg, Virginia on January 11, 1968, a son of the late Melvin Ray Humphreys, Sr. and Lula Deanna Ryan.

Junior was a parts salesman with Truck Enterprises, Inc. and owned Photographix, LLC. He enjoyed dirt track racing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Trish Drumheller.

In addition to his wife of twenty-nine years, he is survived by two daughters, Sarah K. Brown and her husband, Blayne of Staunton and Traci Humphreys of Swoope; two grandchildren, Madelyn and Wyatt Brown; a brother, Kenneth Humphreys and his wife, Tabitha of Waynesboro; a sister, Sandy Flick and her husband, Steve of Crimora; mother-in-law, Wanda Conger and her husband, Ken of Verona; father-in-law, William Downey of Waynesboro and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2022 in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 2, 2022 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Reverend William "Bill" Trice.

Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Charlie Losh, Stacy McCray, Justin Thomas, Jacob Thomas, Dylan Moss, and Aaron Flick.

Honorary pallbearers will be his "poker buddies", Jamie Brown, Mike Huff, Larry Wills, Rob Pullin, Scott Arey, Wes Thornberry, Rodney Lam, Mark Smith, and Jeffery Thomas.

It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
