Obituary

Maura Hunter Wiseman, 84, widower of Lois Marie (Lawson) Wiseman has passed away into the loving, living midst of our Heavenly Father above, hoping to see his loving wife, Lois, who preceded him in death in January 2014. Hunter enjoyed the many days he shared with Lois.

Mr. Wiseman was born on March 15, 1933 at Laurel Hill in Augusta County, a son of the late William Baxter and Virgie Priscilla (Lucas) Wiseman.

Hunter was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Staunton, a proud veteran serving in the United States Air Force for twenty years as a Master Sergeant and later retired from the Augusta Sheriffs Department with nineteen years of service.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Wiseman was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Mr. Wiseman was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Surviving is his closest and most loved relative, his sisters son, James Raleigh Fox along with his wife, Shelia Fox of Staunton and nephew, Stuart Olan Fox of Chuluota, Florida.

A Graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017 in Oaklawn Memory Gardens with military honors provided by the United States Air Force.

It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the First Presbyterian Church, 100 East Frederick Street, Staunton, Virginia 24401 or the Staunton-Augusta Regional SPCA, 33 Archery Lane, Staunton, VA 24401.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
