Obituary

Mattie Louise (Campbell) Grogg, 83, widow of James Robert "Bobby" Grogg, of Craigsville, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018 in the Shenandoah Nursing and Rehab in Fishersville.
Mrs. Grogg was born on July 25, 1934 in Craigsville, a daughter of the late Stewart T. and Neader Pearl (Massey) Campbell.
Louise was retired from Western State Hospital where she had been employed as a Timekeeper, she enjoyed spending time with her family, and Louise was passionate about playing bingo and rummy, and all the fun times with her pet dogs, "Kiki" and "Shashi".
In addition to parents and husband of fifty years, Mrs. Grogg was preceded in death by an infant great-grandson, Parker Argenbright; a brother, Lynwood Campbell; and a sister, Dora Lee Sprouse.
Surviving are twin daughters, Cynthia G. "Cindy" Lowery and her husband "Ricky" of Stuarts Draft and Constance G. "Connie" Deane and her husband Jerry of Craigsville; three brothers, Albert Campbell of Staunton, Carl L. Campbell of Craigsville, and Zane Campbell and his companion Evelyn Staton of Stuarts Draft; two sisters, Willie Ann Jolly of Fordwick and Venita Jarvis-Powell of Staunton; four grandchildren, Carmen Green and husband Andrew, Aaron Argenbright and wife Jelena, Angela Escalante and husband Winston, and Jennifer Nagy and husband Stephan; nine great-grandchildren, Brailyn Green, Brody Green, Akalov Argenbright, Gabriel Golladay, Xavier Golladay, Damien Golladay, Kyle Peters, Seth Peters, and expected new arrival, Zade Escalante; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2018 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory or other times at the home of Mrs. Grogg's, daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Jerry Deane, 273 West Railroad Avenue, Craigsville.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2018 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Eddie Deane and Mr. Eugene Watts.
Burial will follow in the Craigsville Memorial Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Andrew Green, Aaron Argenbright, Stephan Nagy, Kyle Peters, Winston Escalante, and Harold Colvin.
It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the Staunton-Augusta V.F.W. Post 2216, 212 Frontier Drive, Staunton, Virginia 24401.
The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to the Shenandoah Nursing and Rehab for their compassion, love, and care shown to Mrs. Grogg.
