Marylou A. Moore's Obituary

MaryLou A. (Ladner) Moore, 77, Waynesboro VA, formerly of Shortsville, NY, passed away at home and ascended into heaven to be with her Lord on Sunday, January 31, 2021. She had a testimony of showing the fruit of the spirit and those wishing to honor her memory are encouraged to support a Christ-centered organization or missionary helping to spread the Gospel.

In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated and there will be no funeral services.

MaryLou was born in Limerick, NY. She graduated from General Brown High School in Brownville, NY; she acquired a Dental Assistant certificate at Jefferson Community College and later earned a Professional Medical Secretary diploma at the Rochester Business Institute.

MaryLou was a member of New Covenant Baptist Church in Canandaigua, NY for 24 years and dearly loved her church family that supported her through the years. She enjoyed puzzles, knitting, cooking, sewing, reading, and spending time with family, most especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David A. Moore, her mother, Helen Haas and her father, Andiess Ladner.

MaryLou is survived by a daughter, Sylvia Mayo of Watertown, NY, a son, Jeffrey (Pamela) Waite of Waynesboro, VA; three stepdaughters, Linda (Bob) VanCaeseele, Cheryl (Bill) Keifer, and Karen Wood all originally from Shortsville, NY; four sisters, Judy Green of Clayton, NY, Lorraine Vance, Regina Beeson, and Tamela McCullar all originally from Kiln, Mississippi; a brother, Andrew (Cheryl) Ladner of Jefferson City, Tennessee; four immediate grandchildren, Scott (Brittany) Mayo of McDonough, GA; Luke, Noah, and Jonah Waite; two immediate great-grandchildren, Madison and Gavin Mayo; and many other extended family members in New York and Mississippi.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
