Mary R. Rudin
STAUNTON
Mary Wallace (Ratcliff) Rudin, 79, wife of James E. Rudin, of 210 Orchard Road, passed away Friday, October 15, 2010 in Augusta Health.
Mrs. Rudin was born August 27, 1931 in Highland County, VA., a daughter of the late William Wallace and Mary Virginia (Hise) Ratcliff.
Mary was retired form Western State Hospital in 1985 after 30 years of service as a charge aide and was a member of Olivet Presbyterian Church.
She was a very caring person who enjoyed decorating, loved her home, children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed working with flowers.
Surviving in addition to her husband to whom she married on June 27, 1951 is a son and daughter-in-law, Michael Nils Rudin and wife Cindy of Waynesboro; a daughter, Yana A. Kerschke of Staunton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, John O. Ratcliff and wife Nancy of Staunton and Ronnie Duncan and wife Shelvy of Fishersville; six sisters and two brothers-in-law, Doris Virginia Doyle of Waynesboro, Betty Imogene (Ratcliff) Boyd and husband Robert of Union Town, Ohio, Dora Jean (Ratcliff) Shipe of Waynesboro, Annie Mae (Ratcliff) Wood of Staunton, Hazel Irene (Ratcliff) Bobb of Branton, Florida and Marni Janett (Ratcliff) West and husband Steve of Waynesboro; four grandchildren, John Kerschke, Leah Graves, Layla Reid and Carla Clark; eight great-grandchildren also survive.
A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 19, 2010 in Olivet Presbyterian Church by Rev. Joe C. Brandon.
Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, October 18, 2010 in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at her residence.
Active pallbearers will be Thomas W. Wood, David S. Wood, Joseph W. Wood, James E. Shipe, Robert W.Shipe and Tommy L. Shipe.
The family wishes thank their special friend and doctor, H. Lynn Moore and his staff at Mint Spring Medical Clinic.
