STUARTS DRAFT:
Mary Ellen (Thompson) Reid, 66, wife of William H. Reid of 31 Forest Drive in Stuarts Draft passed away Friday, December 30, 2011 in the Shenandoah Hospice House.
Mrs. Reid was born November 12, 1945 in Chilhowie, Virginia, a daughter of the late Avery and Ola Evelyn (Sturgill) Thompson.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Luther Bud Martin.
Mrs. Reid enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and was retired from Hollisters after 19 years as a Personnel Clerk.
Surviving in addition to her beloved husband of 40 years, are two sisters, Shirley Ann Thompson of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Louella Schuler of Murryfield, VA; and many close and special friends also survive.
A Graveside Service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 2, 2012 in Grosses Creek Church Cemetery, 293 Grosses Creek Road, Chilhowie, Virginia, 24319.
The family will receive friends 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon, January 1, 2012 in the funeral home and other times at the residence.
It is suggested that memorial contributions be made to Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah, PO Box 215, Fishersville, VA 22939.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
