Mary Elizabeth Pat (Lucas) Marshall, 80, widow of Briscoe Bell Marshall of 1321 Lee Jackson Highway passed away Thursday, April 28, 2016 at the home of her granddaughter.
Mrs. Marshall was born on November 16, 1935 in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Robert Lucas and Maggie Bell (Johnson) Spitler.
Mary was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church. She retired from Staunton Steam Laundry where she was employed as a presser with thirty-one years of service, she enjoyed shopping at Wal-Mart, cook-outs with her family and playing with her great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Marshall was preceded in death by a daughter, Loretta Lynn Marshall; a brother, Martin Spitler; two sisters, Marie Lawson and Annie Shover; and step-father, Martin Luther Spitler.
Surviving are three daughters, Norma J. Stephenson and her husband Drew of Middlebrook, Sharon L. Bosserman and her fianc Billy Naill and Penny D. Powers all of Staunton; a sister, Dottie Rankin and her husband Jim of Staunton; two grandchildren, Stephanie Hupman and her fianc Thomas Kennedy, Jr. and Sylvia Campbell and her husband Tony; seven great-grandchildren, Lisa Dixie Hupman, Harley Balser, Kaylee Campbell, Kiki Campbell, Sierra Kennedy, Brandon Kennedy and Cheyenne Kennedy; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2016 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home of her granddaughter, Sylvia Campbell, 1844 Middlebrook Road, Staunton.
A Celebration of life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2016 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. JoAnn Bunn.
Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Tony Campbell, Billy Naill, Duane Persinger, T.J. Harper, Steve McCray and Carl Marshall.
Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Stevens, Dr. Rob Marsh, Donald Naill and Eddie McCray.
