Mary Katherine (Overcash) Lambert, 55, wife of Chris Allen Lambert of 162 Crawford Drive passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016 in Lyndhurst while camping with her family.
Mrs. Lambert was born on June 12, 1960 in Staunton, a daughter of the late Earl Franklin and Antha Mae (Stickler) Overcash.
Mary was an active member of Loch Willow Presbyterian Church where she served on the church session and was a volunteer with the Blue Ridge Food Bank. Mrs. Lambert was employed with Augusta Health as a food service supervisor. She enjoyed camping, reading, playing games, working crossword puzzles, collecting angels, feeding and caring for their farm animals and hunting with her husband. Mary was a wonderful and loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lambert was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Polly Lambert and two nephews, Harry E. Overcash and Luther Franklin Luke Overcash.
Surviving in addition to her husband of thirty-seven years is a son, Christopher F. Lambert of Tyro; a daughter, Vanessa L. Hillworth and her husband Jeremy of Lyndhurst; three grandchildren, Kristen Lambert, Katelynn Lambert and Karmen Lambert; two step-grandchildren, Tyler Hillworth and Bethany Hillworth; a brother, Luther Franklin Frankie Overcash and his wife Teronda of Craigsville; a sister Elizabeth Libby Reed and her husband Thomas of Staunton; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2016 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.
A Celebration of life will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2016 in the Loch Willow Presbyterian Church by Pastor Reed Hopkins.
Burial will be follow in the Green Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Willy Woods, Tyler Hillworth, Lewie Armstrong, Roger Lambert, Irv McMahon and William Campbell.
Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters, Kristen Lambert, Katelynn Lambert, Karmen Lambert and Bethany Hillworth.
