Mary Anne (Hunt) Dekle, 88, widow of John Herbert Dekle, Jr., of Staunton, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2018 at The Legacy at North Augusta.
Mrs. Dekle was born on August 5, 1929 in Huntsville, Alabama a daughter of the late Edwin Clyde and Clara Ellene (Bodenheimer) Hunt and lived in Lexington, North Carolina during her childhood.
Mary Anne married John Herbert Dekle, Jr. on June 6, 1954 in Lexington, North Carolina.
She was a graduate of University of North Carolina and retired in 1995 from a position as Director of Geriatric Activities at Western State Hospital in Staunton.
She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church for over 50 years, where she sang in the choir, she enjoyed traveling, gardening, playing bridge, and volunteering at the Staunton Public Library.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a son, Kent Stephen Dekle; and a sister, Betty Claire (Hunt) Comiskey.
Surviving are two sons, Scott Randall Dekle and his wife Jane (Richardson) and Hunt Jeffrey Dekle and his wife Tammy (King); five grandchildren, Katie (Dekle) Kesecker and her husband Scott, Parks Dekle, Lauren Dekle, Hannah Dekle, and Jessica Dekle; three great-grandchildren, Ryan Dekle, Sidney Kesecker, and Shepherd Kesecker.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 2018 in the St. John's United Methodist Church, located at 1716 North Augusta Street, by Pastor Chuck Cole.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, is in charge of her arrangements.
