Mary Lou (Huff) Burtner, 86, widow of Sherwin Marion "Burt" Burtner formerly of White Oak Gap Road passed away Monday, May 3, 2021 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Mrs. Burtner was born in Staunton, Virginia on March 5, 1935, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Minnie (Townsend) Huff.
Mary was a member of White Hill Church of the Brethren and she retired in 1997 from Augusta Health in Fishersville as an LPN. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, growing gourds, and searching for treasures on and off the beach.
In addition to her husband of sixty-one years and parents, Mrs. Burtner was preceded in death by a brother, Homer Huff; and a sister, Barbara Coleburn.
Surviving are two sons, Duane A. Burtner and his wife Sharon of Stuarts Draft and M. Kent Burtner and his wife Sandra of Staunton; a daughter, Beth (Burtner) Dugstad and her husband Peter of Woodbine, Maryland; a brother, Charles Huff of McGaheysville, Virginia; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2021 in the Pleasant View Lutheran Church Cemetery by Pastors James and David Chappell of White Hill Church of the Brethren.
The family will receive friends following the service.
