Mary Alice Virginia (Rexrode) Fitzgerald, 84, widow of Thomas Bernard Fitzgerald, Sr. of Staunton, passed away Monday, February 26, 2018 in Augusta Health in Fishersville.

Mrs. Fitzgerald was born on February 4, 1934 in Staunton, a daughter of the late Alvie Burton and Ella Ann (Arbaugh) Rexrode.

Mary retired from Genesco with 28 years of service, she enjoyed gardening, her kitty cats and feeding the birds.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Wayne Fitzgerald and a brother, Charles A. Rexrode.

Surviving is a son, Thomas Bernard Fitzgerald, Jr.; three daughters, Judy Ann Hartsook and her husband Lyle and Beverly Susan Sprouse and her husband Michael all of Staunton, and Roxanne Marie Fitzgerald and her husband George, III of Mint Spring; three sisters, Peggy Byrd of Fishersville, Helen Johnson and Barbara Lambert, both of Staunton; thirteen grandchildren; twenty seven great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren also survive.

All services will be private.
