Mary Agnes Aggie (Shomo) Dodson, 46, wife of Kevin William Dodson of 48 Smoky Row Road passed away, Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Mrs. Dodson was born January 22, 1965 in Roanoke, VA, a daughter of Joseph Shomo of Staunton and the late Mary McComb (Hodges) Shomo.
Aggie was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church where she was very active in the church choir. She was a 1983 graduate of Riverheads High School and a graduate of Davenport Medical School of Nursing in 1993. Aggie was a nurse for a combined 18 years at Augusta Health and the University of Virginia Hospital. She was a paramedic for four years in Randolph County, NC and a former member of the Staunton Augusta Rescue Squad. Her greatest enjoyments were the special times with her daughter, Hannah, the beach, scrapbooking and the outdoors.
In addition to her husband of nine years and her father survivors include her beloved daughter, Hannah Faith Dodson at home; a brother, Joseph Dayton Chad Shomo and his wife Carolyn (Holland) of Swoope; mother-in-law, Jewell J. Dodson; two sisters-in-law, Judy Ann Armstrong of Waynesboro and Melanie Jane Allhiser of Fishersville; six nieces, one nephew and many close and special friends also survive.
A Celebration of Love will be conducted 5:00 p.m. Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the Bethel Presbyterian Church by Pastor Joel Thornton.
Burial will be private.
Honorary pallbearers will be Staff at the Augusta Health Radiology Department, University of Virginia SAS and PACU Units, and members of the Emergency Medical Services.
The family will receive friends this evening Friday, November 11, 2011 from 5 to 7:00 p.m. at Bethel Presbyterian Church.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
