MARY K. ALTIZER

STAUNTON:

Mary Francis Sissy (Knott) Altizer 52, of 117 Stafford Street went to be with her Lord on Tuesday (January 27, 2009) at her home following a short battle with cancer.
Mrs. Altizer was born in Staunton on July 8, 1956, a daughter of Kenneth R. Knott of Staunton and the late Kathleen Fay Knott.
Mary was employed at Mary Baldwin College.
In addition to her Mother, Mary was preceded in death by her husband Arnold G. Altizer.
She is survived by her children; Mary V. Altizer, Richard L. Jackson, Sr., Ronald G. Altizer and Liz Johnson; seven grandchildren, Richard L. Jackson, Jr., Desiree, Eric, Brandon, Trenton, Emma and Hannah Altizer; two sisters, Debbie Woods and Barbara Scott; a half-sister, Sandra Graham; two nieces, Amanda Mason and Stephanie Balser; two nephews, Trampus Woods and Wilburt Balser and a special friend and companion, Bill Crenshaw.
A memorial service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, (January 30, 2009) in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will receive friends following the service.
